Extremely rare Myott Art Deco Dante Jug 1142F.O.

Myott Dante Jug in a strong zig-zag Art Deco pattern at the mid size of 19.7cm (7.75 inches) tall. Dantes were made in two other sizes but this particular example is the only one I have ever seen. Also known as a ‘Chicken Neck Jug’, this Dante’s pattern is composed of zig-zags in green with a beige background and areas of black to the rim and handle.

This Dante Jug is fully marked to the base with the gold crown of Myott, HAND PAINTED and MADE IN ENGLAND in a russet colour. Other marks include a pattern number 1142F.O., an incised painters mark and also batch number ‘36’. The Dante Jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restorations.
